The London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® works with all levels of government to advocate for legislative policy that allows REALTORS® to better serve their communities and champions the dream of home ownership.
Throughout the year, LSTAR meets with Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) to discuss marketplace trends and collaborative solutions to address housing issues.
On the municipal level, LSTAR engages with local mayors and city councilors to discuss strategies on housing, economic development and other community issues. LSTAR collaborates with the London Chamber of Commerce, St. Thomas and District Chamber of Commerce, London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), and St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation (STEDC).
In addition, LSTAR meets regularly with leaders in real estate, including the London Home Builders’ Association (LHBA), St. Thomas Elgin Home Builders’ Association (STEHBA), and the London Development Institute (LDI).
The Association continues to be a resource for the London Homeless Coalition and the St. Thomas-Elgin Housing Stability Alliance.
