The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has recently rolled out an updated version of its REALTOR® Code Course. This educational program aims to achieve several learning objectives:
- Assist students in recognizing and understanding the four fundamental sections contained within the REALTOR Code.
- Define the responsibilities of a REALTOR® member in relation to their clients.
- Illuminate the obligations of a REALTOR® member concerning agreements and transactions.
- Clarify the duties of a REALTOR® member with respect to disclosures and providing conscientious service.
- Outline the responsibilities of a REALTOR® member concerning advertising.
- Detail the obligations of a REALTOR® member to adhere to legal requisites.
- Explain the duties of a REALTOR® member to the broader REALTOR® community.
- Elaborate on the responsibilities of a REALTOR® member regarding arbitration, along with offering tips for mitigating controversies.
- Highlight the responsibilities of a REALTOR® member pertaining to intellectual property.
- Define the obligation of a REALTOR® member when undertaking a role as a principal.
The course is structured into distinct sections or modules. Each module delves into relevant articles and presents various scenarios, accompanied by multiple-choice questions rooted in both the scenarios and the Code. Explanations for the correct choices are also provided.
The course is available to all LSTAR Members at no cost. The estimated completion time is two hours.
