On November 30 and December 1, our LSTAR members demonstrated the incredible power of teamwork and generosity during the annual BusinessCares Food Drive x REALTORS Care® Day weekend. Together, we came together to make a meaningful impact on our community, and we are thrilled to announce that this was our best year yet!
A special thank you goes out to Lindsay Reid (Royal Lepage Triland), Danny Deprest (RE/MAX Centre City), Jennifer Payne (LSTAR) and Bill Madder (LSTAR CEO) for serving as captains for the Grocery Store Weekend. Their leadership, dedication, and ability to coordinate logistics and volunteers at their respective stores played a critical role in the success of the event. The weekend ran smoothly because of the captains’ hard work and commitment—a big undertaking that we appreciate immensely.
Outstanding Results
Thanks to everyone’s support and contributions, this year’s food drive saw a 1% increase in total pounds of food collected (including the estimated weight of cash donations). That’s a whopping 188,000 pounds of food to support those in need in our community!
At our Captains specific stores, we converted 11,000 pounds of food, a remarkable increase compared to last year. Every coin, every can, and every ounce of effort made this achievement possible, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Looking ahead, we’re already excited about making next year even better and hope you’ll join us again in raising the bar. If we don’t connect in the coming weeks, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many. We’re proud to have such caring and committed members in the LSTAR family, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together next year!
